The annual MTV Africa Music Awards(MAMAs) which was originally scheduled to happen on February 20, unfortunately, has been postponed for reasons MTV did not readily provide. Below is the statement they released:

Since the announcement, a lot of fans and industry players have attributed the postponement to the political instability in the country since the election or the surge in COVID-19 cases on the African Continent and globally.

This year’s event would have been hosted by celebrated DJ and Music Producer and Executive, DJ Khaled with Burnaboy, Tiwa Savage, Calema, Wizkid, Davido, Master KG, and Diamond Platinumz vying for artiste of the year. That of the best international act saw host, DJ Khaled going against Beyonce, Drake, Da Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, and The Weekend.

In all, information regarding the postponement is scanty, and trust us to bring you the update immediately we are privy to some more information.
