In June 2021, Actress Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo was involved in the publication of her n**e picture with her seven-year-old son which went viral on all social media platforms and sparked outrage among Ghanaians.
This issue ended up in court at the Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs. Christiana Cann where she changed her plea from not guilty to guilty to all the three charges preferred against her.
Following this issue, private legal practitioner, Bernard Owiredu Donkor, Akuapem Poloo has made his opinion about the issue and has stated that Akuapem Poloo can only face a maximum sentence of three years as her offence was a misdemeanor.
He added that her lawyers could argue to have her sentence reduced.
Rosemond Brown was remanded into police custody to enable her to undergo a pregnancy test ahead of her sentencing on Friday, April 16, 2021.
Mr. Owiredu Donkor, who made this known in an interview on Citi FM, said the court’s order for a pregnancy test on the convict suggests that she will be handed a custodial sentence.
Pregnancy test
The court will now sentence her on her own plea, but as a requirement by law, the court had to be sure of her state as a woman, hence an order for a pregnancy test to be conducted to ensure that she was not pregnant.
The actress appeared before the court in a black dress and a black face mask, with her hands folded while sobbing as she pleaded guilty to all three charges.
