Angel Kwame Ankamah: 11-year-old pupil of UCC Basic School places Ghana 1st, 3rd in Africa and World Spelling Bee contest

A primary 6 pupil of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Basic School has lifted the flag of Ghana high on the international stage.

Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin, who represented Ghana at the International Spelling Bee competition in Dubai, came 1st in the African contest and 3rd in the World contest.

Master Angel Ankamah Arhin emerged the winner during the inter-schools competition in Ghana and represented Ghana at the world stage of the competition.

The 11-year-old boy won the Africa zone competition and placed third in the world stage of the spelling B competition held in Dubai.

By this enviable feat, master Arhin becomes the first African and for that matter Ghanaian pupil to win this prestigious award.

He received trophies, a certificate of participation and medals

He has been congratulated by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on its official handles.

In a Facebook post sighted by unitedshowbiz.com.gh, Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin is seen presenting the trophies to the UCC Management and Management of the University Basic School.

“Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin, a primary 6 pupil of the University Basic School, represented Ghana at the International Spelling Bee contest in Dubai. He came 1st in the African contest and 3rd in the world contest, “it said.

The Cape Coast-based public University in the social media post added that “He presented the trophies to the University Management and Management of the Basic Schools on Tuesday, 28th October 2021.”

Courtesy Call on the Central Regional Minister

On September 27, 2021, the management team of Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin, an Intercontinental Spelling Bee Champion, paid a courtesy call on the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan

Also, Master Arhin, together with his management team and family members, presented the trophies to Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, the Central Regional Minister.

The team expressed their appreciation for the support the Central Regional Coordinating Council gave them during the preparatory stages of the competition.

Hon. Justina Marigold Assan was enthused about the sterling performance of this young boy who exhibited unparalleled intelligence on the international scene.

Congratulations to Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin for being the first Ghanaian to bring this honour to Ghana and for making the Central Region proud.
