The Ghanaian Lightweight boxer Emmanuel “Gameboy” Tagoe’s contract is formally terminated by Baby Jet Promotions, one of the leading boxing promotional outfits in Ghana.
The 32-year-old, former IBO Lightweight Champion signed a contract in 2018 with the boxing labor union and is set to expire this year in November.
A letter signed by Baby Jet Promotion Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Asamoah Gyan confirmed that “The previously listed promotional and managerial outfit run by President Asamoah Gyan would like to remind you, the boxing Ghana Authority and all stakeholders of the immediate termination of the current sponsor/boxer between the pair.
“The deal, to be completed from October 2018 until 21 November, is closed and we would like to notify you that we have released you to continue your professional boxing career, however you like.
“This takes effect immediately. Whilst thanking you for your working relationship with us during the past times, we also wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours and pray that your next promoter manager will have the kind of care and love we had for you,” the letter stated.
Tagoe’s last trip to Mason Menard this past August is in a bid for a world title shot at American promoter Lou DiBella.
