Shatta Wale, a multi-award winning Ghanaian musician, has claimed that his relationship with American singer Beyonce has not been properly recognized.
Last year, Shatta Wale was featured on Beyonce’s Lion King album, which was released.
eThe partnership, according to the Dancehall artiste, was supposed to pave the way for Afrobeat to go international, but it hasn’t received the support it needs from Ghanaians.
“I collaborated with Beyonce on an album, and Ghana as a whole is not moving the goal, which is a concern’.
“This a superstar that took one of us, Beyonce didn’t say I was special, I was the best artiste, I was the toughest artist or anything, it happened by God’s Grace, and I think Ghanaians have not appreciated it enough, I still feel there is more work to do,” he said in an interview on Showbiz 360.
“We have not enjoyed the glory enough because we are here whining about Afrobeat – Nigerians are not going into the foreign market, and God has given us Moses to only use one stick, instead of everyone following me, they are blind about it, because everyone wants to do some,” he said.
There is no artiste above Beyonce’s stage that anyone will star, but what Beyonce did won’t happen again until another generation comes along.”
‘Already’ has received 44 million views on Youtube seven months after its release.
