Jacqueline Avant was shot dead when robbers broke into he home in Beverly Hills. she was 81.
Jacqueline was the wife of Clarence Avant, a musical icon and executive.
Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook during a news conference that at 2:23 am revealed that when paramedics arrived at the home, they found Jacqueline with Gunshot wounds.
They took her to the hospital but she will not survive it.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear as attackers didn’t steal anything from the house or attack anyone else.
“Someone went into the home, we don’t know the purpose behind it,” the chief said. “I don’t think it’s a random attack but I can’t speculate on that.”
A spokesperson for Netflix confirmed to USA TODAY that Jacqueline was a victim of a robbery.
Jacqueline Avant was a local philanthropist who was president of the Neighbors of Watts and served on the board of directors of the International Student Center at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jacqueline Avant is survived by her husband Clarence Avant and two children; Nicole Avant and Alexander Avant.
Clarence is an award-winning executive and manager who has mentored many career artists like Bill Withers, Little Willie John, etc.
He was recently honoured with Ahmet Ertegun awards by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Police arrested Aariel Maynor, 29, who allegedly shot and killed Avant after breaking into her Beverly Hills home early Wednesday morning. Avant was the wife of music industry legend Clarence Avant, the mother of Democratic fundraiser Nicole Avant and the mother-in-law of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
