Rosemond Alade Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to three months in prison after she was found guilty of all three charges on her own plea.
In June 2020, on Akuapem Poloo son’s seventh birthday, she took an inappropriate photoshoot with her son and posted it on her Instagram page.
The award-winning actress was heavily bashed by Ghanaians after her nude photo with son went viral which made her delete the photo (s).
But it was too late for the mother of one as she was arrested by Police and subsequently the case was taken to court.
After many months of proceedings in court, the Accra Circuit court on Friday, April 16, 2021, slapped Akuapem Poloo with a 90-days prison sentence.
Following the court’s final verdict on her case, Ghanaians on Twitter and celebrities joined together to start a movement on social media with the #FreeAkuapemPoloo as they plead with the court to temper justice with mercy.
Well, as it stands now the popular video vixen is in prison and now the case has gotten to international as her ‘spiritual’ sister Cardi B has also reacted to her prison sentence.
The American rapper, Cardi B was asked by Afromusik in a tweet in which they tagged the rapper to give her view on Poloo’s issue.
Responding to the tweet, she described the verdict of the court to sentence Poloo to prison as “a bit harsh.”
According to her, Poloo’s main idea behind the nude photo was not to expose their nakedness but a natural affection between her son and herself which is not wrong in anyway.
She further stated that the punishment should have been a community service or ban on social media.
