– Early Life
Kevin’s father, Prince Boateng left Ghana on scholarship to study Administration. He was unsuccessful, ending up as a disc joker and waiter.
Kevin Prince Boateng was born on 6th March 1987 in Berlin, to a German mother Christine Rahn, and a Ghanaian father, Prince Boateng.
Soon after he was born, his father left his mom due to marital issues. This meant that he had to be raised by a single parent, his mother.
Kevin-Prince together with his senior brother, George, grew up together with their mother in the town of Wedding. While they lived in the city’s poorer areas, his paternal half-brother, Jerome, lived in the affluent areas of town with his father, Boateng.

– Professional career
In 1994, while at the green age of 7, Kevin started his football career with the ‘Reinickendorfer Füchse’ club. He later signed for Hertha BSC. He would stay in this club for long, playing his first match after he turned 20.
In the same month, Tottenham Hotspur signed him for £5.4 million. He remained in England for two years, after which he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund. While at the club, he displayed his best performance but was later suspended for rowdy behaviour on the pitch.
He then signed a £4 million 3-year deal with Portsmouth.
In 2010, Boateng made a nationality switch for Ghana. He got a Ghanaian passport and was featured for the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2010 World Cup. During the tournament, he played against his brother Jerome, who was featured for Germany.
In 2014, the footballer would again play for the Black Stars in the 2014 edition of the World Cup.
Before the world cup, he played for Schalke O4 but was eventually dismissed due to bad behaviour in 2015. The footballer went to AC Milan but a few months later, he moved to Las Palmas to join the Spanish La Liga.
