Lawrence Julius Taylor, known professionally as “L.T.,” was born on February 4, 1959, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to Clarence and Iris Taylor.
Lawrence Taylor is a retired linebacker who played his whole career with the New York Giants.
The 62-year-old former NFL legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer was arrested in Florida on Thursday for not allegedly registering as a sexual offender and for failing to notify authorities of his new address, as required by law for registered sex offenders.
In a case in which he was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl in 2011, he pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and soliciting a prostitute.
The accusations were filed after a 16-year-old girl reported that she was abused by a pimp and forced to have sex with Taylor in his Rockland County, New York, hotel room.
“This was a working girl who came into my room. She told me she was 19. It is what it is,”– Taylor said in an interview.
Although he was not sentenced to prison for sexual misbehaviour, he was obliged to register as a sex offender, which requires him to notify authorities of any new addresses.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has been involved in a legal battle. He was arrested multiple times in the 1960s for allegedly purchasing narcotics.
He was arrested again in 2019 after fleeing the scene of an accident. He was caught for botch driving once more in 2016.
Despite his numerous criminal offences, he is still regarded as the best football defender of all time.
Reports available to us indicate that Lawrence Taylor is facing two felony charges.
What Lawrence Taylor’s Attorney said
Taylor’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, tells us … “Lawrence Taylor has been compliant with all of the rules and regulations regarding his legal status for the past decade.
Sadly he is in the middle of a divorce and his local police department suggested it would be best if he slept at a nearby hotel.”
“Mr. Taylor was constantly a resident of the marital home where he was registered, but on the advice of local law enforcement, he was sleeping outside the home. We are confident that this will be dismissed at the first court hearing.”
Court records, obtained by TMZ Sports, show Taylor has been hit with two felony charges of failure to register as a sexual offender.
