The dancehall singer, who is currently in Florida, is said to be saddened by his mother’s death, Miss Elizabeth Gordon. On Thursday, she passed away in a Kingston hospital (March 11).
The circumstances surrounding her death were not disclosed, but sources told on Friday that Miss Gordon, also known as Miss Pinny in her neighborhood, died of an illness. Mavado, we’re told, was aware of all that was going on and is really upset about it.
“Anyone who know Vado knows that he and is mother very close so of course he’s gonna feel it,” a source said,
“I know singer is a public figure but it’s been a rough period right now for the family so they’re asking for privacy as they deal with this and other matters.”
Dante Brooks, Mavado’s son, was found guilty of murder in January, and Mavado is dealing with that as well.
The singer of “So Special” spoke out against his son’s prosecution on social media, arguing that he did not receive a fair trial. On March 19, the younger Brooks will be convicted.
