Michael Essien, a former Black Stars midfielder, has proven to his fans wrongly by releasing a picture of his family. After promising to support the rights of Ghana’s LGBTQ+ community, the footballer came under fire.
Many Ghanaians mocked the former Chelsea player, with some even calling him gay. He took down the message immediately after the social media backlash.
Now, the renowned midfielder has responded to his critics by demonstrating that anything said about him was wrong.
He used social media to celebrate all women on March 8, 2021, which happened to be International Women’s Day.
In honour of the occasion, he shared a picture of his three children. He was photographed wearing the same clothes as his children.
His children’s faces were hidden in the picture because they were coated in love emojis. His picture was captioned as follows:“Happy International Women’s Day to all the mothers out there”
