Budding Kumerican rapper Phaize has revealed that his mother didn’t want to see him because of his hairstyle.

In a radio interview monitored by unitedshowbiz.com.gh, the rapper opened up about how his choice to do music affected the relationship between him and his biological mother.

According to him, he used to work at his mother’s cold store but she sacked him. “My mom didn’t want to see my presence because of my hairstyle” he mentioned.

However, he also mentioned that despite everything he’s still on good terms with her because she’s now getting to understand his choice to do music and what the work demands from him as an artist.

Commenting further, Phaize also stated that people criticize him a lot but he’s unperturbed about all the negativity because not everyone will say good things about you in life.

He encouraged his fans to stay strong and not give in to any form of pressure from society.

Phaize became a household name in the Ghanaian music scene when the drill movement started in Kumasi last year, and even worked with dancehall star Shatta Wale on his “Ahodwo Las Vegas” hit song that topped charts across the world.
