MzVee, born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda was born in South La estates in Accra. Her father was a businessman and her mother, a professional caterer.
Though born in Accra, her family traces their roots from Keta.

MzVee started pursuing her career even before enrolling at Ghana Telecom University.
After SHS, MzVee went to see Richie, the owner of Lynx Entertainment record label. Richie formed an all-girls band named ‘D3’ with MzVee as the lead singer.
MzVee released her first single ‘Borkor Borkor’ in January of 2014. Soon after, she followed through with a bigger banger ‘Natural Girl’. This particular banger got her name all over Africa.
In November of the same year, she released her first album Re-Vee-Lation. This album some of the big names in Ghana Music in VIP, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, M.anifest and Richie Mensah.
Exactly one year later, she released her second album ‘Verified’. This album earned her seven nominations at the Ghana Music Awards in 2016.
In 2017, she released her third album, Daa Vee. She went on a three-year break after releasing this album. In 2020, she came back from her vacation to release her fourth album, ‘Invincible’.
