NSMQ 2021 Regional Qualifiers Officially Begins Today

The 2021 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Regional Qualifiers is scheduled to begin officially today Monday, May 3, 2021 as announced by Primetime Limited; the organizers of the quiz.

The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is an annual science and mathematics content-based national level quiz for senior high schools in Ghana.

Balloting for the NSMQ 2021 regional qualifiers took place from Tuesday, 9th March 2021 to Friday, March 19, 2021 in all the 16 regions of Ghana.

The balloting started in Greater Accra and ended in the Ashanti Region.

Initially, the regional qualifiers was scheduled from 12th April, 2021 to 27th April, 2021 and was reviewed and rescheduled to begin on 3rd May and end on 3rd June 2021.

The 2021 NSMQ Regional Qualifiers will feature over 600 Senior High Schools (SHSs) in Ghana who will compete for a chance to show their prowess in the national stage.

There will be 4 Contests today and in each contest, 4 schools will compete except in contest 4 where 5 schools will compete for the Greater Accra regional qualifiers.

In the Preliminary Stage of the NSMQ 2021, 108 Schools will guarantee their spot.

This means that only 108 schools will secure a slot in the prelims from the regional qualifiers.

The National Science & Maths Quiz seeks to promote the study of Science and Mathematics in Ghana.

This programme has been popular at unearthing local young scholarly talent since 1993, and was adjudged the CIMG TV Programme of the Year 2017.
