Presbyterian Boys Secondary School in Legon, Accra have been crowned winners of the maiden edition of The Orators Public Speaking Challenge.
The Orators Public Speaking Challenge is an inter-high school program designed to foster the cognitive, critical thinking, and expression of students.
The challenge was organized by Speech Forces and Africa Schools Online with support from Indomie Ghana.
The event which was part of the activities to mark the 18th Ghana International Book Fair was also supported by Blue Vision Multimedia and Botaepa TV.
The maiden edition of the Orators Public Speaking Challenge was hosted by Africa Schools Online in partnership with Speech Forces and with support from Indomie Ghana.
Presbyterian Boys Secondary School represented by Andrew Kattah from won the maiden edition of The Orators Public Speaking Challenge.
Andrew walked away with a GHS 1000 cash prize, a trophy, a medal, and some goodies from sponsors.
Second Trophy Winner
Daniella Coffie from Achimota School won the second place trophy after 3 high-level rounds of speaking.
Daniella also received a GHS 700, a medal, and some goodies from sponsors.
Third Trophy Winner
Archbishop Porter Girls Secondary School’s Ewuraba Efuah Mensah took 3rd place with an impressive performance in all 3 rounds of the competition.
She was awarded a GHS 500 cash prize, a medal, and some goodies from sponsors.
Yasmin Muftawu Jawula from Galaxy International School impressed the audience with her awareness of global identity politics and desire for an inclusive society.
Yasmin made it all the way to the finals and was awarded a medal and some goodies.

The maiden edition of The Orators Public Speaking Challenge was held at the National Theatre in Accra and featured 19 students from
10 schools from Greater Accra, Takoradi, Eastern Region, and Cape Coast.
Schools that participated in the challenge are; Ghana National College, Ghana Lebanon Islamic Secondary School, Presbyterian Secondary Technical School, Accra Girls’ Senior High School, Delhi Private School, St. Augustine’s College, Archbishop Porter Girls Senior High School, Achimota School, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School.
Message from Organizers
Mr Abel Ohene Acquaye, speaking on behalf of the organizers, expressed gratitude to the participating schools for honouring the invitation and preparing their students adequately for the challenge.
He thanked Indomie Ghana and the various partners that made the event possible and made a passionate call to Corporate Ghana and other organizations to support platforms that allow young people to express themselves on societal issues while developing themselves for the future.
Mr Aquaye ended by assuring the schools and students that the Orators have come to stay and will be an annual feature in the country.
