Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah reacts as GRA chases daughter to pay tax on her $1Million wedding gift

Reverend Minister of the Royal House Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah has reacted to the Ghana Revenue Authority’s statement on the demand of tax payment on her daughter’s $1 million wedding gift.

A reportage hit the internet that some friends of Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah’s daughter gifted her a US$1 million cheque during the wedding ceremony which happened on July 10, 2021, at their church premises.

The plush wedding ceremony became the conversation of the day with some people suggesting that the way in the manner the money was presented wasn’t right.

The reports caught the attention of the GRA who quickly wrote to ask the couple to pay tax on the amount which was given to them as their wedding gift.

The Reverend Minister in a video made it known that the money gifted to her daughter was a faith seed in the life of the couple and not money as it was presented.

“They presented the dummy cheque of $1 million but people did not get the idea behind the presentation.

They thought it was real money.

What these people are saying is that one day during occasions like these, they will be able to present a cheque of $1 million and that is the statement they are making.” he said.

He described the Cheque as a faith seed in the life of a couple that one day they will be able to receive such money.
