St. Monica’s Senior High School in Mampong in the Ashanti Region of Ghana has emerged the winner of the Luv Fm High School Debate 2021 after eliminating Kumasi-based boys school, Prempeh College to lift the trophy.
The Luv Fm High School Debate 2021 which happens to be the 3rd edition of the quiz saw a competitive and full demonstration of wits and critical thinking among contestants who represented their school in all the stages of the quiz.
At the end of the quiz, St. Monica’s Senior High School came first with 262 points as they beat the boys of Prempeh College with 14 points to carry the trophy claiming their bragging rights.
Opoku Ware School was overshadowed by Adventist Girls SHS, which came third in the competition after scoring 241 points.
Opoku Ware managed to score 211 points in the fierce competition with Adventist Girls SHS.
Earlier, the contestants of St. Monica’s Senior High School made it clear that ‘Africa is not under Slavery’ which followed their big win in the just ended Luv Fm High School Debate 2021.
Commenting on the success of this year’s quiz, Mr. Antwi Isaac, the Sale and Marketing Manager of Luv FM said, “We are proud to say this year’s Debate has lived up to expectation.
There are already calls to expand to schools across the country, something we are considering in the subsequent edition”
Isaac Antwi attributed the success of the event to the commitment of partners and sponsors.
“We say thank you to our judges, the Ghana Education Service, the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council, the Writers and Debaters Society, and the Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools,” he said.
This year’s edition of the Luv Fm High School Debate was contested by over 70 schools in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Contestants displayed their great wits in debating ideas for national progress.
The skills of research, public speaking, listening, debating and rebuttals have been awesome.
