Ghanaian professional footballer, Thomas Partey has changed his jersey numbers at Arsenal Football Club based in Islington in England.
Thomas Partey is a midfielder for the premier league club of Arsenal and Ghana national team.
Thomas Partey has switched from the number 18 jersey shirt to his favourite number 5.
He is expected to to use his favourite number 5 in the 2021/2022 season.
Following his arrival from Atletico Madrid last summer, the 28-year-old was handed the number 18 shirt because the number five was unavailable.
Speaking on why he reverted to his favourite jersey number 5 after using the number 18 at the 2020/2021 season, Thomas Partey said,
“I like the No 5 because it’s one of the most important numbers in the team and it is also a lucky number for me,” he told Arsenal.com.
“It’s the number I’ve worn for the past few years, so for me it’s one of the best numbers.”
Thomas Partey wears the same number jersey for the Ghana national team, Black Stars.
Thomas Party played 32 times in all competitions for Arsenal and he is expected to be a key figure for the Gunners in the new season as Mikel Artera plans to challenge for top positions.
