Burma Boy has received his first Grammy award at the premiere of the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony, which is currently in production.

Burna Boy beat out Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Tinariwen to win the award for Best Global Music Album for his album “Twice as Tall.”

Following his victory, an ecstatic Burna Boy said that it was not only his win, but one for Africans all over the world, and went on to inspire every African to believe in what they are doing and to be hopeful that they will achieve it as well.

This is a big win for my generation of Africans all over the world“, he said.

This should be a lesson to every African out there, no matter where you, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it because you are a king. Look at me now“, he wrote.

Burna Boy has been nominated for this award for the second time, despite this being his first win. Last year, he was nominated in the same category as Angelique Kidjo, who beat him and others to win.
