According to the police, the accident was an apparent suicide, but detectives say they are investigating the incident.

Although the chairlift operator was able to stop the ride before it shut down, staff failed to alert her to the safety rails.

According to McConnell, Jessica Rhea Ford fell off the chairlift approximately three-quarters of the way up the mountain.

Although the autopsy is not complete, the evidence indicating that the death was an accident is compelling.

A witness said she saw Jessica Rhea Ford fall from the chairlift.

He reportedly tried to warn her about the safety rails but was not able to reach her because she was falling.

A few guests also saw the fatal fall but were unable to prevent it.

Ford’s family and friends said she was a regular patron at the bar.

It was not clear what the witness did to prompt her to call 911.

The family of the missing person has not spoken to the media.
