Nominations for the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced and two African music stars, Wizkid and Shatta have been nominated for collaborations with American singer, Beyonce on ‘Black Is King’.
Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid was nominated alongside Beyonce in the Best Cinematography category while Shatta Wale bagged a nomination in the Best Art Direction category.
Wizkid and Shatta Wale, two of Africa’s biggest music singers, have been nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards 2021.
As reported by Billboard, the Made in Lagos singer was nominated for her work on the music video for Black Skin Girl, a song from the album ‘Black is King’.

The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on September 12, 2021, at the Barclays Center in New York City.
This marks the second time that the venue will host the show—the first was for the 2013 ceremony.
