Ghanaian rapper, Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, popularly known as Yaw Tog has gained another international recognition of which he has been named Africa Rising Artiste by Apple Music in a new post sighted by unitedshowbiz.com.gh dated May 7, 2021.
Yaw Tog made this announcement on Friday on his verified Instagram handle which has over 170,000 followers and has got over thousand reacting to the new development massively.
This is yet another notable accomplishment for the youngster, who has been cracking barriers set by iconic musicians from all over Ghana.
Following the release of his new freestyle, which he titled “Me” a few days ago, the fast-rising Ghanaian artist received over one million views.
Tog boasted about his collaboration with Stormzy, a Ghanaian-British singer, in the video, which received one million views on Youtube in just three days.
Who got on Billboard last year and got a mili in three days … do you got hit songs like me? Stormzy came in for who? And who is that black boy winning?” Tog was heard rapping.
In April this year, Yaw Tog got an International Recognition from BET when he was named BET Amplified International Artist for April.
In a tweet on the official handle of BET, they announced, ”BET International is proud to announce Yaw Tog as our April BET Amplified International Artist of the Month,”
“BET Amplified is our seal of approval on the next big thing in music! Stay tuned to our social accounts to see more of Yaw Tog throughout the month of April.”
Widely considered the face of drill in Ghana, Yaw Tog is popular for the breakout hit ‘Sore’, whose remix features Kwesi Arthur and British-Ghanaian rapper Stormzy.
Yaw Tog is also behind the seven-track Time EP, which was released in March.
